Notified Bodies
Notified Bodies are institutions, responsible for the conformity assessment of medical devices including tasks such as calibration, testing, certification, inspection and the well-known assessment of the manufacturers´ technical documentation. Besides the Competent Authorities, the Notified Bodies therefore represent the most important institutions when searching for market access of a medical device within the EU. However, the Notified Bodies do not represent national authorities.
