DMIDS
The German Medical Devices Information and Database System (DMIDS; „Deutsches Medizinprodukte-Informations- und Datenbanksystem“) is a database, managed by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM; „Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte“).
The DMIDS provides a digital platform to exchange data between the authorities and other stakeholders such as ethics commissions, manufacturers, EU-representatives, and notified bodies. The DMIDS is e.g. used for:
- Manufacturer registration
- Medical device registration
- IVD registration
- Submission and organization of clinical studies for approval
- Management of contact details
